The Pottery Group

About the Pottery Group

The Warrandyte Arts Association Pottery Group is held in the “Old Fire Station” situated immediately behind the Mechanics Institute in Warrandyte. It is run as a workshop where each person works at their own pace. There is a tutor to coordinate glazing and firing. We mostly make earthenware garden pots such as planters, bird houses & feeders, water bowls, garden sculptures and very special mosaics.

image As we are a non-profit organisation our fees are minimal. The classes are held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday and Wednesday and the terms run parallel with the school terms.

From time to time we are involved with local projects. Over the years we have contributed to the Federation Path; the garden path and sculpture at the Mechanics Institute in Warrandyte; and the Perorchan Sculpture at The Pines Shopping Centre. Most recently we created a mosaic panel for the Playground at Fenn’s Reserve in Templestowe.

Some collections of photos from the galleries can be found via the following links

We have a most creative and energetic group and would be delighted to welcome newcomers either experienced or novice. Why not come along any Tuesday or Wednesday morning to meet us at work?
